This policy applies uniformly across all operational SBUs: Septic Tank Services & Honey Sucker Fleet, Bulk Potable & Industrial Water, Heavy Plant & Equipment Hire, Solar Backup Infrastructure, Commercial Tree Felling & Site Clearing, and Structural Pest Control.
Statutory Environmental Acts & Regulations
Our teams operate within the legal boundaries established by national departments and local metropolises:
Enforces Section 28 (Duty of Care to prevent pollution) and Section 30 emergency reporting protocols for sudden environmental incidents or spills.
Regulates the transportation, safe containment, classification, and manifest-certified disposal of general and hazardous liquid waste streams.
Guarantees water resource protection, prohibiting the contamination of stormwater channels, wetlands, rivers, and subterranean dolomitic aquifers.
Governs DAFF-registered pest management, pesticide formulation drift containment, and empty chemical packaging triple-rinsing/destruction.
SBU Environmental Control Mandates
All extracted biological effluent, grease trap content, and sludge is transported via sealed vacuum barrels to licensed municipal Wastewater Treatment Works (WWTWs) such as Daspoort, Zeekoegat, Rooiwal, Northern Works, or Olifantsfontein. Zero field dumping is strictly enforced.
Potable water is drawn exclusively from permitted Rand Water, municipal meter points, or sustainable hydrologically audited boreholes. Strict flow-metering ensures zero depletion of restricted municipal reservoirs during drought alerts.
Drip trays are deployed under parked heavy plant (TLBs, excavators, rollers) on sensitive construction sites. Fleet engine maintenance utilizes Tier-compliant fuel injection to minimize carbon footprint and particulate emissions.
Biodiversity preservation checks are performed to ensure no protected tree species (under the National Forests Act No. 84 of 1998) are felled without a DAFF license. Cleared organic biomass is chipped for garden mulch or compost recycling rather than sent to landfill.
Commercial solar design actively replaces dirty diesel generator run-time, directly lowering client scope 1 carbon emissions. Decommissioned lead-acid or lithium batteries are consigned exclusively to certified e-waste recycling processors.
Safe Disposal Manifests & Custody Tracking
Under South African Waste Information Regulations, commercial clients are legally accountable for the lifecycle of their generated effluent. Chengeto Group guarantees complete chain-of-custody tracking:
On-site volumetric meter reading, client location, and baseline chemical characterization.
Automated vehicle telemetry tracking tankers directly from client pick-up to municipal discharge points.
Official weighbridge and discharge stamp signed by municipal treatment facility officers.
*Safe Disposal Certificates (SDCs) and WWTW delivery slips are archived digitally and issued directly to client procurement and SHEQ files.
